As of July 1, 2022, psychotherapy provided by cantonally licensed psychotherapists will be covered by basic health insurance.
For psychotherapy to be covered by basic health insurance, it must be prescribed by a general practitioner (your family doctor), a pediatrician, a psychiatrist or a specialist in psychosomatic medicine.
In crisis situations, a referral for 10 psychotherapy sessions can be prescribed by practitioners with a specialist title from all medical specialities.
Below you will find a template of the medical referral:
Psychological Psychotherapy referral
Each order entitles the patient to 15 sessions with a psychotherapist. It is possible to renew the referral, but requires a joint assessment between the referring practitioner and the psychotherapist. With regard to deductible parts of the payment, the usual provisions of the basic insurance apply.
If you wish to make the payment via the supplementary insurance:
Currently, it is still unclear how the supplementary insurances will react, and which costs they will cover. Therefore, contact your insurance provider and clarify the company policy for the costs they cover.
If you wish to make the payment without insurance:
One session costs CHF 160 (60 minutes).
Cancellation
At least 24h before the appointment (by phone)
Late cancellations (less than 24h) and missed sessions will be charged 100 CHF. These costs are not covered by health insurance, IV/accident insurance etc. and must be paid by you.
Pausing or ending therapy
You decide if and when you want to take a break from therapy or end the therapy. However, I ask you to inform me of your decision personally in a session.
Confidentiality
As a psychotherapist ASP I am bound by professional secrecy and treat your data and what is discussed in sessions as strictly confidential.
